The Competition
The Formula Hybrid competition is an intensive design challenge open to engineering student undergraduates and graduates from colleges and universities across the globe. The challenge is to design a hybrid (gas and electric) drive train, open wheeled, race car under the Formula Hybrid rules and eventually compete in the first week May every year.
The competition was created and is currently managed by Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth. The races are held at New Hampshire motor speedway where driving events include acceleration, endurance, and autocross. The technical inspection and presentation aspects of the competition are judged by other engineers and industry professionals making top notch design imperative.
